Crazy bridal session... Five brides!
So I had this super rare opportunity before Christmas to do a bridal session with five brides for friend and fellow photographer, Abby Devall. The session included Abby and her 2 sisters, along with their 2 sister-in-laws. I was happy that we were able to do the session because weather postponed it 2 or 3 times! I definitely got some great ideas from working with Abby. It's always fun to see another photographer in action!
Well, let me know what you think!

Here are a few of Abby and her supermodel-self:

Check back soon for photos from a wedding I recently shot with Abby!

I've been a photographing and photoshopping fool the past few weeks! Gosh I can't wait for Christmas break!!!!!
Let's start off with this cutie patootie! I just want to eat him up and take him home with me! I think he'd fit right in!

And here's the beautiful/handsome family:

Lastly, here's another "Christmas Card" session of some friends from church. Baby Eli was born on October 23 (one day before our one year anniversary)! He weighed in at a whopping 9 pounds 3 ounces! Poor momma!

More on the way. I just did a photoshoot with five brides at one time. Good stuff! But I kinda have to wait until after Christmas to post!

Christmas Cards - Megan & Kenny
I'm so excited about my first-ever Christmas Cards! Now, technically, I didn't design the card itself, but I did take the photos inside. In fact, I love the card design so much that I think I will use it for my own Christmas Cards this year ;)

Stay tuned for a few more Christmas Card sessions! I will be a busy bee for the next couple of weeks trying to get these out on time!

long awaited update!
Sorry it's been such a long time since I've posted! I've been swamped with work (you know, at my day job), photo sessions, and best of all... moving into my new house! It's been a great month and I'm getting excited about the holidays!
First, let me share some pictures from my latest sessions:

I love his baby blues!!!!
Next, I want to talk about something that I probably wouldn't normally post on my photography blog! So just bear with me and hear me out...
Last year at church, we were introduced to an organization... an idea... a movement... called Advent Conspiracy. You can read more about it here http://www.adventconspiracy.org/.
I wanted to share two videos with you that I really want you to sit, watch, and LISTEN to what its saying.
1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVqqj1v-ZBU
2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkTyPzRzuwc&feature=player_embedded
The story of Christ's birth is a story of promise, hope, and a revolutionary love. So, what happened? What was once a time to celebrate the birth of a savior has somehow turned into a season of stress, traffic jams, and shopping lists. And when it's all over, many of us are left with presents to return, looming debt that will take months to pay off, and this empty feeling of missed purpose. Is this what we really want out of Christmas?
What if Christmas became a world-changing event again?
Welcome to Advent Conspiracy. Worship Fully. Spend Less. Give More. Love All.
So what does this mean for us... our family?
Each Christmas we get together with my parents and siblings and spend $20 on each person. With our ever-growing family, that comes out to be around $220 for me and my husband. Half of the time, I'm not even sure if anyone likes what we give them. And I know there are times we've wondered "what were they thinking" with our gifts! Now, what if we did something a little different. What if instead of spending all that money on stuff we don't really need or want, we did something else with that money. What if we made a difference?
Here's what I’m proposing, and you don't have to participate if you don't want to. Sure, Hunter and I would love to receive presents this year, 'cause Lord knows there's a lot of things we need for our house. But God also provided us both with good jobs, and there is no reason that we can't eventually afford the things that we need. Instead, we are asking that our family/friends take the $20 they would spend on us and you give it to someone or something who really needs it.
Here are a couple of places we would like for them to consider donating to:
1. Living Water International - http://www.water.cc/
2. World Vision International - http://donate.worldvision.org/OA_HTML/xxwv2ibeCCtpItmDspRte.jsp?section=10375&item=78
(if the link above does not work, go to http://www.wvi.org and then click on the image "Gifts that Make a Difference." Select the United States to view the catalogue.)
With World Vision International, you can buy a family in Africa a goat! Goats nourish hungry children and families with healthy milk, cheese, and yogurt. Goats also give a much-needed income boost by providing offspring and extra dairy products for sale at the market. A healthy dairy goat can give up to 16 cups of milk a day. Goat milk is easier to digest than cow’s milk and is an excellent source of calcium, protein, and other essential nutrients that growing children need. Goats are practical animals — flourishing in harsh climates while producing valuable manure to fertilize crops and vegetable gardens.
How awesome would it be to have someone at work ask you, "what did you get for Christmas?" and to have your response be "we provided a family of 6 in Africa with a goat." Imagine how that could change the world.
Ideally, we'd love for each of you to decide to do the same thing we are asking. When we add up how much each of us spends on one another, we could probably buy 13 Farm Animals!
Now, by participating in this "Advent Conspiracy" it doesn't mean you have to take the fun out of Christmas! I'm trying to get my family to participate in a gift exchange, or white elephant gifts (nice ones) this year! That way everyone still gets a gift, and we can have fun fighting over the best ones! But, in the end we would be spending WAY less on "stuff" and giving more!
Feel free to contact me if you'd like more information on Advent Conspiracy and how you can help. Our church will also being doing a lot of activities with homeless shelters next month, so if you are interested in joining us to serve dinner one night, please let me know!

more of the boys
Finally finished editing the photo session with the three boys. Here are two that I was super excited with:

I just love the texture/feel of these. Maybe it's just me, but the tall grass, fence, and this texture just go so well together!
if you haven't already, feel free to check out my other blog: At Home With the Causeys

boys will be boys
Such cute little guys! They were so happy and giggly so that made my job much easier! I love the "natural" feel that these images have. And we all know how much I love pretty eyes!

Lots more on the way!
